How to:
- Upload / download only files that were modified.
- Download file from arbitrary location on a FTP site.
- Set mask to specify the file types you want to be shown in the directory listing.
- Upload (download) only files that match the specified mask.
- Create new FTP site settings from the FTP link on a Web page.
- Prevent FTP connection timeouts.
- Find the particular file in the directrory listing.
- Transfer several files simulltaneously.
- Calculate space occupied by a directory on a FTP site.
- Modify file( directory ) attributes.
- Uninstall My FTP Places manually.
- Backup/restore site manager data.
1. Upload / download only files that were modified.
If the file being transferred already exists, you will be prompted to choose one of the predefined replacement options. Select "All Newer" if you want only newer version of files to be transferred, select "All Older" if you want only older version of files to be transferred.
2. Download file from arbitrary location on a FTP site.
On the directory listing context menu, click "Download File". Type the full path to the remote file you want to download.
3. Set mask to specify the file types you want to be shown in the directory listing.
On the FTP site context menu, click "Properties". Click the "File Listing" tab and type the mask you want to use in the appropriate text box.
4. Upload (download) only files that match the specified pattern.
You can just set the mask in the dialog box.
5. Create new FTP site settings from the FTP link on a Web page.
Just drop that link into site manager.
6. Prevent FTP connection timeouts .
FTP site may disconnect you after a certain period of inactivity. To avoid this, on the FTP site context menu, click "Properties". Click the "Connection" tab and set the time interval between keep alive requests to the remote FTP site.
7. Find the particular file in the directrory listing.
In the directory listing, press Ctrl+F.
8.Transfer several files simulltaneously.
9. Calculate space occupied by a directory on a FTP site.
Select a directory (or directories) in the listing. On the context menu, click "Properties". Click the "Calc Size" button.
10. Modify file / directory attributes.
Select files or/and directories in the listing. On the context menu, click "Properties" and modify attributes using check-boxes or by entering the numeric value.
11. Uninstall My FTP Places manually.
It is simple. Click Start, Run and type: regsvr32.exe /u <path to MyFtpPlaces.dll>. Click OK. This will remove My FTP Places from the registry. By default My FTP Places is installed in the "Program Files/My FTP Places" directory. To completely remove My FTP Places from your hard drive you need to delete this directory.
12. Backup/restore site manager data.
On the My FTP Places context menu, click "Backup FTP Places" or "Restore FTP Places". You can do the same manually because the site manager stores sites in *.INI files in the "My Documents/My FTP Places" directory.
